All losses in April of 1942 where recorded as Bf 110E-2's, with the unit given as 6.(Z)/JG 5. The conclusion drawn from this must be that the aircraft inventory of the Z-Staffel consisted of aircraft from the C, D and E versions of the twin-engined fighter aircraft. Further that the redesignation of the Z-Staffel with regards to reports on higher level happened in late March 1942, but before the reports where sent sometime early April 1942. The last loss report for 6.(Z)/JG 5 I have found was for the date 11. March 1942, while the first for 10.(Z)/JG 5 was filed for 8. April 1942. Later, the last loss filed by 10.(Z)/JG 5 was on the 18. June 1942, the first occuring for 13.(Z)/JG 5 on the 28. June 1942.
I would be very interested in obtaining copies of Wehrpässe of personnel from the unit from this period, as the unit designations would be stamped or written in them with corresponding posting dates.
